再愛 BBC

These days 輕 談 淺 唱 不 夜 天 accompanies me during the course of dinner preparation. Really like as if I were in HK. Weather report says that HK is now only 12 degree Celisus. All friends do take care.

Oh! BBC is not boring at all time, indeed. Two of the programmes watched are quite noteworthy.

- The Beatles -

Friday evening's BBC news reported the grand opening ceremony of Liverpool's European Capital of Culture 2008, which would last for 12 months of groundbreaking performance with over 350 events. What's special was that Ringo Starr was one of the performaners. Before the ceremony Ringo was even interviewed by BBC.

I'm not The Beatles' fans, but heard the name for long, watched them many times in black-and-white TV. I never think about I can see one of them in COLOUR and live show !!! To be frank, Ringo is 幾形.

- One Laptop per Child -

Today a documentary programme reports the progress of 'One Laptop per Child' in Negeria. Oh! It is manufactured! I read a news years ago about some MIT (麻省理工) guys wanted to design a notebook cost only USD100 (from donation) so that each child in the world, especially in the 3rd countries, can have a chance of learn knowledges. Well, their dreams come true! The TV programme talks about the joy and happiness from children on learning new things from them, and how thank you are they want to say to the donors.

The programme triggers my thought ... always chase technology day-by-day, do we really use it fully? Or we just waste money? Maybe the USD100 notebook can do all the things I require to do; the other USD900 I paid is wasted? Maybe, yes!
